Adam Wright is the founder of Patient Lawyer, a boutique legal practice specialising in clinical negligence claims.

Why I Founded Patient Lawyer

I founded Patient Lawyer because I wanted to build a law firm that worked better for both clients and lawyers. In traditional practice, talented lawyers can often become weighed down by billing targets, costs pressures, time-recording requirements, heavy caseloads and layers of internal process. These demands can distract from the reason many of us entered the profession in the first place: to focus on our clients, understand their cases and achieve the best outcomes we can.

Patient Lawyer was created to remove as much of that burden as possible. By combining modern systems, dedicated operational support and a focused approach to caseloads, lawyers have the freedom to concentrate their time and expertise where they add the greatest value: carefully investigating claims, supporting clients and progressing each case with the attention it deserves.

I also wanted to create a model in which lawyers could build a better life for themselves. That means offering the flexibility to work from anywhere, greater autonomy over how they practise and a fair “reap what you sow” approach to remuneration—so that effort, expertise and the value created for clients are properly rewarded. I believe clinical negligence lawyers are deeply passionate about the work they do, but it is also an emotionally demanding area of practice. By building a specialist clinical negligence firm on the foundations of consultancy, Patient Lawyer creates the conditions for lawyers to feel happier, more supported and more fulfilled in their work. Happier lawyers are better placed to build strong relationships with clients, give each case the attention it deserves and work towards the best possible outcomes. My aim is a practice where lawyers can thrive professionally and personally, without compromising the quality of service their clients receive.

About Adam

Adam is a specialist clinical negligence solicitor who represents individuals and families affected by medical errors. His practice centres on complex, high-value claims involving life-changing injury, and he has secured multi-million-pound settlements for his clients.

His experience includes representing patients in a widely reported clinical negligence group action involving a former television urological surgeon. Across every case, Adam combines careful analysis and strategic litigation experience with a clear focus on the person behind the claim.

Clients value Adam’s approachable, compassionate style and his ability to explain complex medical and legal issues in plain English. He believes that people should understand the decisions being made about their case and feel informed, listened to and supported throughout the process.

Hypoxic brain injury at birth — £12 million: Secured a £12 million settlement for a young girl who developed quadriplegic cerebral palsy after severe delays in delivery caused a hypoxic brain injury.
Delayed diagnosis of appendicitis — £550,000: Recovered £550,000 for a client who developed sepsis and serious long-term bowel complications after a critical delay in diagnosis.
Avoidable stillbirth — £80,000 and private IVF provision: Achieved an £80,000 settlement and funding for private IVF for a mother whose obstetric history was not properly assessed and who was not offered a medically necessary caesarean section.
Delayed diagnosis of cervical cancer — £825,000: Recovered £825,000 for a client whose cervical cancer became advanced and terminal after multiple smear test results showing abnormal cells were wrongly reported as negative.
Missed Achilles tendon injury — settlement confidential: Secured an out-of-court settlement for a patient whose injury was missed in A&E, leading to a full tendon rupture, invasive surgery and a prolonged absence from work.

The Brand

It was important to me that the Patient Lawyer brand reflected both the experience of our clients and the way we represent them.

The deep green conveys reassurance, balance and resilience: a calm, dependable foundation during what can be an uncertain and difficult time.

The clear, bold lettering represents our commitment to giving straightforward advice in plain English, while also reflecting the robust stance we take when protecting our clients’ interests throughout the litigation process.

The yellow dot symbolises the light at the end of the tunnel. Many clients come to us after an injury has set them on a long and difficult road, often followed by a demanding legal process. The dot is a simple sign of hope and forward movement—a reminder that, however dark the journey may feel, we will help them work towards answers, accountability and a brighter future. Most importantly, the words “Patient Lawyer” depict exactly what we are; we are lawyers for patients, passionate about justice.
